It doesn't matter what industry - although if you are from the automotive, pharma, or FMCG sector it would give you distinct advantage.
Ultimately you will be working for a ERP provider as part of their consultancy practice.
However their client base is exclusively manufacturing and their proposition is 'see how the software can improve xxxx' or 'see how the software can save xxxx'
Therefore your role is to work with the sales teams to help them get under the skin of the client - the manufacturer - to identify these areas.
Therefore you will need to have a detailed understanding of manufacturing/ production processes and have been in a role where you could genuinely influence change.
This might have been as a consultant or may have been 'in house' - either way you will be able to communicate this change at all levels and have the gravitas and credibility required to make this happen.
If this is you and you and you are genuinely looking for a new challenge then this could be a good fit for you.
My client is a very large, worldwide leader in the ERP arena. They have been established for 35 years and have built up and enviable client base of major manufacturing organisations.
They can offer a fantastic salary and benefits package, home working, the opportunity for world-wide travel and excellent career progression.
