Audio Visual Sales Director

The Sales Director is responsible for developing strategic sales plans,driving and realising total sales and margin objectives. Thisperson will demonstrate an extensive understanding and applicability of
all areas in the Event’s industry, client servicing, and business practices.The Sales Director is a member of the Executive Team and inthis capacity must provide strategic business advice to develop andenhance the overall company performance in both theshort and long term.

Duties
Develop Strategic Sales Plans
- Drive strategic planning process including long term strategicinitiatives, near term actions, competitive analysis, and markettrends
- Work with senior management within each organisation todevelop stretching and achievable strategic plans for profitablesales
- Ensure the strategic sales plans are "synchronised" with themarketing plan and activities, with intensive coordination andcooperation with the Managing Director
- Work with the Operations Director to ensure capacity strategyis understood and optimised by sales managers and provideconversion-focused feedback on product
- Break larger plans down into manageable targets and KPIs

People Management
- Work with performance and budget data to maximum theeffectiveness and efficiency of the team
- Coach and develop the sales team
- Provide advice and assistance in the management of the widersales team
- Recognise which staff are ripe for advancement and put plansin place to develop them
- Recruit new sales managers as and when required Sales

Expertise
- Be the "sales champion" within the businesses
- Help the senior management teams and the wider businessesbecome more sales focused
- Create proposals for sales offers and promotions to aidconversion with costs, benefits, and KPIs
- Challenge and improve the sales process to improve customersatisfaction, retention, and conversion
- Measure, assess, and manage productivity across differentsales teams
- Run and/or arrange sales training sessions for staffUncover any areas of weakness, and create plans to addressthem
- Spot areas of strength and work out how to capitalise on them
- Regularly review and identify opportunities to diversify and/ortake advantage of new sales and commercial opportunitiesquickly
- Provide relevant and appropriate proposals and updates tosenior leadership teams
- Work with the marketing team to ensure consumer and tradeshow stands (and other events) are appropriately staffed andsales teams have all the tools they need
- Business development: seek financially-advantageousopportunities with new partners, affiliates, and channels;negotiate terms (in association with the senior teams) anddevelop the relationships
- Ensure sales targets are communicated appropriatelywithin the businesses
- Ensure regular communication of corporate prioritiesand ensure execution of strategies to ensure alignmentwith corporate strategies
- Flag areas for concern / improvement / opportunity asearly as possible
- Celebrate sales successes within each business

Competencies
- 8 Years+ of sales management experience, ideally in theEvents industry or other service delivery products
- Likely to be University educated
- Qualifications in management / sales / business, desirable
- Experience in managing third party distribution / partner /agency relationships
- Experience in developing and executing strategic sales plans
- Proven track record of working with a direct sales model
- Proven track record of business development
- Experience in developing and reporting on lead andconversion metrics
- Excellent motivational skills
- Evidence of successful sales staff coaching
- High level of integrity and strong client service approach
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Comfortable working with a variety of technology platformsand communicating through electronic channels
- Strong independent problem-solving skills and analytic ability
- Superior planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills
- Ambitious for the companies as well as for opportunities forpersonal growth and progressions
- People and relationship focused, but numbers driven
- Ability to travel on a regular basis
