Overview

The aim of this e-learn is to help NHS staff in Wales to identify policies, procedures and documentation which can help to effectively manage the risk of violence and aggression.

The content covered is aligned to the Skills for Health framework, specifically Module A 'Induction and Awareness Raising'.

Description

There are occasions where staff within the healthcare sector can experience verbal and physical abuse from service users, other staff or visitors. It is an important aspect of your role within the NHS to understand the risks and also manage and de-escalate those risks.

Upon completion of this e-learn, you will be able to:

  • Define the terms "violence" and "aggression"
  • Demonstrate knowledge of your responsibilities as a professional
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the staff support mechanisms available within the organisation and how to access this service

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
