Overview

Days 1 & 2 – UX and UI foundations, day 3 – Prototyping in Figma, day 4 – Project work, day 5 – Portfolio and Career advice.

Hands-on 5-day bootcamp in User Experience design for everyone, where we cover an entire design process: from user research to wireframing and prototyping using Figma app. All run by an experienced designer.

You will be working on various projects with lots of practical exercises throughout the week. And you'll design your own portfolio too. One-to-one mentoring is available as a ticket option: we'll review your portfolio, provide career advice, salary insights, and prepare you for that interview.

Your health & safety is super-important to us. We follow COVID government guidelines and encourage all our students to do so. Hand-sanitisers will be available for you to use. Kindly use a face mask when necessary.

The course is run in-person at Canada Water Culture Space in London SE16 7AR.

Description

Day 1 — UX design fundamentals

We'll show you how to carry out user research, map user journeys, run usability and A/B testing, track conversions and more.

Day 2 — UI design fundamentals

You'll learn the base User Interface design principles, how to make your UI responsive and accessible, create a style guide, and more.

Day 3 — Wireframing & Rapid Prototyping

At this workshop you'll create an interactive prototype of your own portfolio website using Figma, which you'll then preview and test on your mobile phone.

Day 4 — Project work

You'll be completing projects from scratch with days of full-on practice designing UX and UI.

  • all guided by a professional designer with over 15 years of experience

Day 5 — Career in UX & Portfolio Advice

You'll leave with plenty of knowledge on what it's actually like to be a UX designer in the field, what you need to become a freelancer, how to create a portfolio, where to find a job, interview tips and market rates.

Requirements

No previous design background required. We'll teach you everything you need to know. You'll need a laptop with Figma app installed (that works on both Windows and MacOS) or Sketch app (if you use MacOS).

Throughout the course you will be working on numerous case studies, which will be part of your portfolio.

Is 5 days really enough to know everything I need to become a ux designer? Do we work on projects for our portfolio? I have no projects of my own

Answer:

You'll be surprised how much you'll learn in a week — we don't unnecessarily stretch our curriculum and focus on what you need to know to get job done at a workplace as a UX designer. Yes, plenty of hands-on exercises and projects building portfolio.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
