The Court of Protection (COP), created under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, has jurisdiction over the property, financial affairs and personal welfare of people who it claims lack mental capacity to make decisions for themselves.

Applications to the COP are critically important which is why it is crucial that private client practitioners are confident in their knowledge of and ability to make urgent applications to the COP and thereby ensure the best outcome for their clients.
