The Teaching Assistant: Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is designed to provide an understanding of the skills and knowledge needed when working directly with children or young people in primary and secondary schools, as well as special schools. The Award involves learning about the development of children and young people, and how to safeguard their welfare and communication. Learners who are not working in Level 3 school roles but aspire to achieve this level will find this initial training highly effective.

The Teaching Assistant: Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification is the ideal route to learn the skills to work in schools, develop techniques required for the role, gain understanding of legislation and relationships. The Award will equip learners to work with children aged 5 to 18 and covers a variety of areas including development, working with individuals in different capacities and learning about the schooling system.

Method of Assessment:

The learner must achieve 4 mandatory Level 3 units, totalling 12 credits. There are no exemptions, barred combinations or equivalent units.

The Award will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This may include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.

Additionally, £139 (Inc. VAT) is charged for your assessment and certificate. You need to pay this when you are submitting your assessments only (It is not required to pay initially when you are registering). This payment can be paid in installments when you are submitting your assessments.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of this course will be awarded an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

This qualification will provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge needed when working directly with children and young people in school environments. It includes learning about children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare and communication and professional relationships. The Award is suitable for learners not yet working in a Level 3 school role but could achieve at this level. It is also suitable for initial training.
