Overview

This qualification will enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary, secondary or special schools. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting those with disabilities or special educational needs and communication and professional relationships.

It is also a must-have for all those undertaking the Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning Apprenticeship.

How is it assessed?

It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.

Do you need to be working to take the qualification?

Yes, you will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement, as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. We recommend approximately 150 hours working in real work environment (minimum of 6 hours a week)

How long does it take to complete?

This qualification will take up to 8 months.

Requirements

You should be at least 18 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
