Overview
The primary concern of security management is to protect the company’s assets, through a process of development, documentation and implementation of policies and procedures. There is risk in putting up a business and risk in securing the assets of the business, so there should be a careful plan when problems arise. Risk assessment plays an important role in delivering maximum security.

At the end of this course, students shall learn how to:
(1) understand the definition of security management;
(2) plan effectively;
(3) manage effectively;
(4) understand the roles of a security officer;
(5) gain knowledge about budgeting;
(6) develop decision making skills;
(7) be familiar with threats and systems;
(8) plan and manage a project;
(9) be aware of different types of crime;
(10) be aware of burglaries, hijacking, domestic violence, child abuse and rape.
To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
The role of a security manager includes identifying requirements in developing a secure environment, security issues and managing identified risks, and responding to security incidents. There should be a balance between system protection and convenience. Communicating effectively promotes the implementation of security protocols.

Course Format
This course is divided into several modules and is delivered online through our interactive learning management system. Students are given access to the learning portal where they can access the course 24/7. This gives them complete control over the pace of their learning while also enabling them to study from home, in their offices or from a laptop while traveling.
Course Duration:
Normative or minimum period of study to complete this is 35 hours. Take note that this is only an estimate. The duration of completing the course still depends on the learner’s pace and ability to absorb information. Additionally, as the course is delivered online, learners have the options to divide and study the course in multiple sessions or go through it one go.
Learners will be given full access to this course for 12 months from the date of enrolment. During this period, learners are given the flexibility to complete the course at anytime.
