Level 4 Diploma in Business Management develops your sound understanding of business management, its operations, and modern-day businesses' challenges. The Qualification focuses on developing understanding, skills and abilities to equip the Learner with the awareness and attitudes to be an effective organisational manager and leader.
This qualification is accredited in the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework and onto European Qualifications Framework.
The course aims for the following -
- To enable Learners to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to business in private and public sectors
- To enhance analytical and evaluative skills relating to business across a number of industries
- To develop the Learner’s ability to recognise and reflect on the process of personal learning and development which facilitates the enhancement of key personnel, sociable and other transferable skills
- To encourage the Learner’s self-reflection, analytical, intellectual and transferable skills

Description
Learners will complete six units to achieve the full Level 4 Diploma in Business Management. Each unit has 20 credits.
Unit 01: Communication in an Organisation
The module aims to develop the learner’s awareness of organisational, personal, team and external communications. Communication practices, systems, styles and tools are explored and how they support individual and group’s commitment to organisations and their objectives.
Unit 02: Leadership and the Organisation
Through a study of leadership styles, current theory and models learners will be gain an appreciation of leadership skills and their importance at all levels in organisations and for specific purposes.
Unit 03: Financial Awareness
The overriding aim of the module is to provide the learner with the necessary knowledge to be able to critically evaluate the financial systems, processes and procedures in their own organisations. Learners will gain an understanding of accounting conventions, appreciate measurement for efficiency, profitability and solvency, and the different demands made by different stakeholders. Learners will gain understanding of financial commentary.
Unit 04: Managing Change
The aim of this model is to introduce different models and practices of change management. The model further aims to help Learners to develop an understanding of the issues and practices involved in the management of change and those activities that contribute to positive organisational change. Learners are encouraged to develop and use their problem solving skills.
Unit 05: Business Operations
This module aims to enable learners to develop an understanding of the issues relating to the management of activities with a particular focus on problem-solving. The module provides a basis for understanding how different organisations are structured and controlled and the importance of business goals and objectives. The workings and operations of the organisation are examined and Learners are required to develop and deliver operational plans.
Unit 06: Developing Teams
The module focuses on building, developing and supporting teams to enable them to achieve their goals and objectives. Learners will identify the skills and potential of teams and individuals. Opportunities for teams to develop, gaining new skills and experiences and ways to evaluate and improve their performance are important to the module too.

Each unit is assessed through an assignment.

Results and Certificate
Learners must complete six units successfully and achieve 120 credits before the qualification certificate and final transcript are issued by the Qualifi awarding body.

- Assessment cost of the qualification is £400, payable at the beginning of the course or £100/month for four months.
Who is this course for?
This qualification is suitable for those who are re-entering employment after a period of absence and for those who are seeking a career change. You can also join University year 2 or Level 5 Diploma in Business Management after completion of this course.
Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. However, we prefer applicants to have Level 3 qualification. We also accept learners who have experience.
Career path
Learners completing the Level 4 Diploma in Business Management will allow progress to:
- the Level 5 Diploma in Business Management, or
- the second year of undergraduate study in business management; or
- directly into employment in an associated profession.
