Overview

The QNUK Endorsed Award in Behavioural Detection Analysis is an entry-level course within the subject of behavioural screening and detection, with an emphasis on providing knowledge and skills to assist in keeping crowded spaces safe from threats including terrorism. The course is ideal for those individuals that want to learn more about behavioural detection, and for organisations that wish to better prepare their staff in identifying anomalous behaviour.

Description

The set of simple procedures in this course gives trainees the confidence to assess the baseline of average behaviours and spot those behaviours which are out of the ordinary and then provides a straightforward instruction in how to conduct an initial ‘Resolution’ conversation to work out why the person might be exhibiting stress behaviours. It’s not about increasing suspicion – it’s about raising awareness. Engaging in acceptable behavioural detection practices across an organisation is a vital part of keeping that organisation safe. It’s a win-win – in most cases, you will provide improved customer service to innocent but stressed people. Still, in those crucial few cases, you may identify a possible threat from a person whose behaviours and the story doesn’t add up.

The course is delivered using blended learning, using a mixture of video based e-learning followed by an exam (to gain QNUK certificate). This delivery method allows full flexibility using a professional delivery method.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
