PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner Exam Details (7th Edition)

In order to receive your PRINCE2 certification you will need to take two exams, one closed-book exam and one open-book exam.

PRINCE2 Foundation Exam (7th Edition)

Purpose: To determine whether you’re able to act as an informed member of a project management team, utilising PRINCE2® methodologies.

  • Exam format – Multiple-choice (Classic, Missing word & List style questions).
  • Duration – 1 hour.
  • Number of questions – 60.
  • Pass mark – 36/60 (60%).

PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam (7th Edition)

Purpose: To determine whether you’re able to apply the PRINCE2® methodologies to run and manage non-complex projects.

  • Exam format – Scenario (Classic & Matching style questions).
  • Duration – 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Number of questions – 70.
  • Pass mark – 42/70 (60%).

Open book - The Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 publication, should be used (and you can make notes inside the book), but no other material is allowed.

Requirements

There are no prerequisites or entry requirements at Foundation level. However, basic project management knowledge would be beneficial.

To enrol on the PRINCE2 Practitioner course, you will need to have passed one of the following:

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • IPMA Level A, B, C, or D
