Overview

“Politics is the art of the possible, the attainable — the art of the next best”― Otto von Bismarck.

Welcome to the world of Political Studies. Political studies is concerned with the theory and practice of local, state, national, and international governance and politics. Politics is the study of the connections between the individual, the state, the government, public affairs, and public policy. Political Studies investigate the dynamics of these interactions in the context of conflicting views, values, and interests, particularly in the pursuit of various public goals, such as political power and government control. Politics is thus both a study of conflict and a study of how these competing interests reach a compromise and cooperation.
