Overview

Full Body Massage

The world that we live in is an incredibly busy place. We all have the stresses of work, social engagements, and looking after those we love in life while our phones, computers, and TVs shout notifications about the things we forgot we agreed to the week before… sometimes it is good to just unwind.
Performing a Full Body Massage treatment is an opportunity for you to give your client a relaxing and enjoyable experience designed to encourage a feeling of well-being. This course will teach you everything you need to know about offering a professional full body massage and includes practical training and assessment.

Chair Massage

A great addition to the massage therapists skill set, this incredibly portable form of massage can be practiced almost anywhere. As clothing does not need to be removed, there is no use of oil and the length of time of the treatment can be flexible it is very good to attract business executives who need a quick stress reliever.

One of the greatest advantages of learning this technique is that it is portable, you can bring your job and set up pretty much wherever you want, have chairs outside your business, for a quick massage to bring in customers, in office buildings, to quickly de-stress office workers, or should you want to see the world you can use the skill to get a job on a cruise ship.
YOU MUST HAVE A PREVIOUS LEVEL 3 MASSAGE QUALIFICATION IN ORDER TO TAKE THE COURSE.

Foot Reflexology

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that encourages the body to balance and heal itself. It involves applying finger or thumb pressure to specific points on the hands and feet. These points are called reflexes and they reflect, or mirror, the organs, and structures of the body as well as a person’s emotional health. In this way, the hands and feet are mini maps or microcosms of the body that can be used to encourage holistic healing.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers and aims to release tension in the body. Deep Tissue Massage can be especially helpful for individuals who prefer a lot of pressure used during a massage.
The purpose of Deep Tissue Massage is to “unstick” the glued fibres of a muscle while releasing the build-up of tension, eliminating toxins while relaxing and soothing the muscle itself. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. The movements are slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is a speciality massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones in order to massage and relax the body. The premise behind hot stone massage therapy is that the direct heat of the stones relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to their deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience. The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation. This type of massage has become increasingly popular with clients over recent years, as it’s known to be deeply relaxing.

Indian Head Massage

The Indian head massage currently used by therapists was introduced to the world by Narendra Mehti after moving to England. Mehti advanced the style not only to massage the head but also the shoulders and neck, allowing ultimate relaxation for the mind.
This technique has been boasted to boost memory, fight headaches, migraines and the anxiety that comes with a stressful active life

Professional Standard of Therapist

The GTi course in Professional Standards for Therapists covers all the essential legislation and professional ethics required for working in the industry as specified in the National Occupation Standards for level 2 and 3 treatments in beauty, nails and holistic therapy. FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
