Overview

PHP, also known as Hypertext preprocessor, is an open source (free) scripting language that allows you to create dynamic websites and work with servers. PHP was first developed by Rasmus Lerforf in the year 1994. Though it is mainly used in web development, it is also used for general purpose programming. PHP scripts can be run on many operating systems such as Linux, Unix, Microsoft windows, MAC OS and many more. PHP also supports many web servers such as Apache and IIS. PHP is a very flexible programming language that allows developers to choose their desired operating systems and web servers.

PHP is now used on over 20 million websites and over 1 million servers worldwide. As a developer, gaining control over the PHP programming language can massively benefit your career in IT or programming. This comprehensive PHP Fundamentals training course will get you well acquainted with PHP Programming. This course will also cover topics such as comparison operators, arrays, string functions, and more. You will get to learn everything about the basics of PHP programming using real world examples. Source codes are included for each lesson so you can learn by deconstructing each element. By the time you have completed this course, you will know all about creating dynamic web pages with PHP, common PHP errors, and even advanced concepts such as tree structures and array dereferencing.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
