PEG Feeding Training - a classroom course with 7 CPD hours towards your Revalidation

It has been designed to provide the opportunity to gain more knowledge on Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy. The course aims to cover PEG tubing, feeding, and the administration of medication.

To build confidence, knowledge and skills to support patients/ clients when participating and delivering their PEG feeding care.

The Course covers the following modules:

  • What is PEG feeding?
  • Conditions that may require PEG feeding
  • Indications and contra indications of PEG feeding
  • Understand the procedures of how to administer feeds & medication via PEG
  • Care and maintenance of enteral feeding tubes
  • Review procedures for effective mouth care
  • How to care for gastrostomy stoma
  • How to deal with complications
  • Documentation & record keeping

Who is this course for?

The aim of this training course is to provide both General Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who are involved in the primary care of patients whose nutritional needs are met through Peg feeding

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
