Description
- Understand how the UK payroll system works
- Be able to correctly calculate National Insurance contributions
- Be able to correctly calculate PAYE and understand the procedures

Unit 3: PAYE
- Calculations of income Tax
- Understand why P45 is required
- Understand why emergency tax code is used
Unit 4: Statutory pay and leave such as sick pay; Statutory maternity and paternity.

Unit 5: Pension
- Introduction to occupational pension
- Automatic enrollment

Unit 6: Introduction to computerized payroll
Payroll using a computerized software
- Setup a new company
- Add a new employee
- Insert information records such as tax code; deductions..etc
- Deal with Starters and leavers
- Submitting RTI reports such as EPS and FPS.
Duration and Certificate of completion:
This course can be taken either as one day intensive class room training or online. Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. You will be awarded a certificate in Payroll Essentials.
Entry requirement:
This course suits anyone seeking to get into Payroll. A Basic skill in numeracy is required and an interest to study.
