What you will learn:

In this short introductory session, you will learn about some of the life-saving techniques that can be used to help in the event of an emergency situation where an infant or young child is involved. This class is very popular with new parents and parents to be. It is informative, practical and delivered by a fully qualified Paediatric First Aid professional.

Description

What happens in the class (format/activities)?

The session is a mix of tutor/learner demonstration, practice and question and answer session.

At the end of the class you should be able to:

Assess emergency situations using the DRAB technique including how to open a baby or child’s airway and dealing with a choking baby or child. You will also learn how to apply CPR to a baby or child that has stopped breathing.

What you will need to know before you enrol:

No prior knowledge is required – only a desire to learn something new in a relaxed atmosphere with other people who want to learn more about Paediatric First Aid.

What you will need to bring with you:

Nothing fancy and just the basics are needed (Pen and paper).
