Course Format
This course is divided into several modules and is delivered online through our interactive learning management system. Students are given access to the learning portal where they can access the course 24/7. This gives them complete control over the pace of their learning while also enabling them to study from home, in their offices or from a laptop while traveling.
Course Duration:
Normative or minimum period of study to complete this is 40 hours. Take note that this is only an estimate. The duration of completing the course still depends on the learner’s pace and ability to absorb information. Additionally, as the course is delivered online, learners have the options to divide and study the course in multiple session or go through it one go.
Learners will be given full access to this course for 12 months from the date of enrolment. During this period, learners are given the flexibility to complete the course at anytime.
Description
Personnel Management is responsible for finding the right people to do the job and to train them and further develop their skills. In every organization communication is very important and it is an integral role of personnel management to be able to communicate with all employees at all levels. Motivation is essential in keeping employees and keeping them productive and personnel management sees to it that they appraise performance, provide benefits, and incentives to keep employees motivated.
At the end of this course, students shall learn how to:
(1) understand human behaviour;
(2) be familiar with workplace communication skills;
(3) be aware of workplace conditions;
(4) control operations;
(5) recruit and induct;
(6) facilitate staff training;
(7) understand work teams;
(8) enforce positive discipline;
(9) handle grievances and complaints; and
(10) monitor and report.
To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
In an organization where people have extreme differences it is quite inevitable that disputes will arise, and it is a part of personnel management to intervene and resolve disputes. Thus we can say that personnel management holds the key in promoting a harmonious working environment.
