The Online Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (CTLLS) course is designed for current practitioners who are looking to reflect on their own teaching practices in order to improve. It’s suitable for those looking to progress into FE teaching and is another step on the pathway to full teacher status.
The online course is a combination of presentations, video lectures, assignment templates and use of an electronic textbook from Ann Gravells. Upon enrollment candidates are sent a welcome package of electronic resources. At the same time you will be assigned a mentor and a call will be scheduled to answer any queries.
The course itself consists of five mandatory units with a final research project based on your current teaching practice. 30 hours of current teaching will need to be logged as part of the qualification, and will include 3 hours of observations to help you improve as a teacher.
Who is this course for?
The course is suitable for current teachers / trainers who are looking to obtain a higher level qualification within the industry. This includes those in private training roles and people in volunteering positions who are looking to gain experience.
Successful candidates have the opportunity to progress onto the Online Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, which can lead to full teacher status.
Prospective candidates must be in a current teaching / training role. This can include the private sector and volunteering positions.
The qualification can be accepted by further education colleges and provide a route into teaching. Progression includes the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and then full teacher status. Fully qualified teachers can typically work anywhere in the world.
