NCFE Teaching Assistant Course Bundle
The Teaching Assistant Level 3 Award and Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course bundle is designed to accurately reflect the needs of individuals who support teaching and learning. Teaching assistant is no longer a traditional role. In the modern world, it has different positions in diverse educational settings. The teaching assistant’s primary function is to support the classroom teacher and ensure the students benefit the most from their learning environment.
The courses incorporate skills and knowledge who are working in a teaching assistant position in schools, colleges and the community. The Level 3 Teaching Assistant course bundle will fully map the skills, behaviour requirements and knowledge based on national standards.
The course bundle is a qualification that is job-ready and requires learners that they demonstrate their skills to work as a teaching assistant at the completion of the course. The course bundle will focus on supporting, understanding, developing and safeguarding children and young people. It will cover the theoretical knowledge of the work of a teaching assistant.

- Gain an understanding of the structure of structure of education from early years to primary education
- Learn how to plan and provide children and young people with an environment that is supportive of their health and safety
- Gain an understanding of legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures to safeguard children and young people
- Gain an understanding of the pattern of development from birth to nineteen for children and young people
- Understand how to monitor the development of children and young children and intervene if the pattern is not being followed as expected
- Learn how to recognise and manage risks on health, safety and security
- Learn how to safeguard children and young people and work in partnership with other organisations
- Learn what influences children and young people and how it impacts their practices
- Learn how to work with children and young people and support their well-being.
Method of Assessment:
The learner must achieve 4 mandatory Level 3 units, totalling 12 credits. There are no exemptions, barred combinations or equivalent units.
The learner must achieve 11 mandatory Level 3 units, totalling 32 credits. There are no exemptions, barred combinations or equivalent units.
The Certificate requires 32 credits. Credits from the Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools can be carried over and counted towards the Certificate.
The Award will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.
There is a charge of £499 + VAT for assessment and your certificate. You will need to pay this when you are submitting your assessments. It is not required to pay anything upon registration.
