Overview

This half day course will enable your business to comply with the legal requirement to carry out the Moving and Handling of Objects safely.(Health and Safety Executive)

Delegates will learn how to improve manual handling techniques, move and handle loads safely and be able to conduct a personal manual handling risk assessment.

Description

This course is classroom based and involves interactive discussions, relevant workshop exercises and related practical demonstrations.

By the end of the session delegates will have acquired the following practice based knowledge:

  • Explore employer and employee legal responsibilities
  • Explore local organisational policies, and where to seek advice and gain information
  • Implement ELITE principles
  • Make use of risk assessments
  • Recognise manual handling risks and how injuries occur
  • Understand normal human movement patterns
  • Know the principles of safe practice
  • Understand the importance of multidisciplinary team work.
