Learning Objectives :

  • Understand the difference between leadership, management and supervision.
  • Informed of the current trends in strategy for law firms that will affect their legal practice
  • Know how to turn the classical, PEST and SWOT from an analytical tool into an effective strategy and gain competitive advantage
  • Use a leadership strategy template to track their strategy.
  • Improve both their personal and firm reputational capital and understand the importance of brand
  • Understand how to implement marketing initiatives that work for their legal practice and complete a marketing plan for their practice


Under the SRA’s new approach to continuing competence, solicitors are expected to use the Statement of Solicitor Competence to identify and address their learning and development needs. The competence statement requires the following competencies:

  • A - Ethics, professionalism and judgement
  • B - Technical legal practice
  • C - Working with other people
  • D - Managing themselves and their own work

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
