This module aims to detail the procedures involved in dealing with UK to UK trade, ensuring you understand the following topic areas:

Project

Additionally, there will be a project based assessment to demonstrate your ability to apply the knowledge. Drawing from the learning completed in previous modules, project work permits the student to choose an area of International Trade & Customs Compliance that best suits their individual and/or company requirements. With reference material and practical tutor support the student can move into a more specific area on a project basis.

Study Commitment

As a guide you should expect to study for around 82 hours for each of the three modules and 26 hours for the project based assessment. The course has to be completed within 4 years, but the usual period of study is 15 months. These are recommended hours only, as the completion time will vary from student to student.

Assessment

Each module is completed by means of an assessment. Assessments usually comprise a 3000 word report linked to the practical application of Customs procedures in the working environment – students have 6 weeks to research and complete the assessment. The project based assessment requires a 4000 word report.

International trade professionals who would like to study for a professional qualification in world customs compliance and regulations.

Requirements

Candidates must be 19 years of age or over and successful completion of the Level 4 Diploma in International Trade (formerly Advanced Certificate in International Trade/ACIT). Candidates with an existing Degree from a recognised University and / or more than 5 years’ experience in international trade will be considered for direct entry to the Diploma.

Career path

On successful completion of the Level 5 Diploma in World Customs Compliance & Regulations, students will qualify for Graduate Membership of the Institute and will be entitled to use the suffix of MIEx (Grad).

You may then decide to go on to study for the BSc (Hons) Management Practice - International Trade
