Overview

This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is split into three pathways: Early Learning and Childcare, Social Care, Learning and Development Support Services.

In addition it contains an optional unit ‘Understand how to set up a home based child care service’ which can be taken as a stand- alone unit for those who wish to become registered childminders. The Diploma requires 65 credits to complete.

It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence which include professional discussion, written assignments or reflective account.

You will be awarded with a NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce certification

The awarding body is CACHE.

You can progress onto The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services or a Foundation Degree.
