The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is an essential introduction for anyone wanting to work and teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

It is the ideal award for those with no previous teaching experience or qualifications, as well as those already working in the sector who would like to gain an official qualification.

Description

The duration of the course is approximately 6 weeks, however you do have 12 months to complete the course. All our courses are fully accredited nationally recognised qualifications.

Once enrolled onto your course you will receive a welcome call from your sector competent tutor, and you will be given a direct telephone number for them. They will be available Monday to Friday to offer guidance and provide feedback as you work through the programme, ensuring your assignments meet the criteria. This excellent online support system is in place so that you will never be alone!

Students will be required to perform a Micro-Teach session as part of the course. You will need to draw up a lesson plan and deliver a micro-teach session to at least 3 people. There are 5 units within this course as follows;

  • The roles and responsibilities of teachers in the lifelong learning sector

  • Teaching and learning approaches in your specialist area

  • Demonstrating session planning and delivery skills (MicroTeach session

  • Assessment and evaluation of learning
  • Developing your reflective practice

Who is this course for?

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is an introductory teaching qualification, which prepares learners for teaching or training in a wide range of contexts.

It does not develop competence, as learners are not required to be in a teaching position.

The qualification is suitable for individuals who wish to teach in the Further Introduction to the qualification Education and Skills Sector and forms a foundation for those with little or no previous experience of teaching

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
