The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an essential introduction for anyone wanting to work and teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
It is the ideal award for those with no previous teaching qualifications or experience, as well as those already working in the sector who would like to gain an official qualification

Description
The guided learning hours for this qualification are 48-61 hours. As the course is all on-line, students’ study completely at their own pace. However, from the date that you enrol you will have 12 months as a course expiry date.
Students are required to perform a Micro Teach session as part of the course. You will need to draw up a lesson plan and use Skype to demonstrate the 15-30 minutes session. Alternatively, you may record your Micro Teach and submit your audio-visual recording via Drop Box or by posting a memory stick or DVD to our office.
There are 5 units within this course as follows;
- The roles and responsibilities of teachers in the lifelong learning sector
- Teaching and learning approaches in your specialist area
- Demonstrating session planning and delivery skills (MicroTeach session)
- Assessment and evaluation of learning
- Developing your reflective practice
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through assignment coursework, and practical assessment in the classroom – this includes a 15-minute micro-teaching session, which you must deliver to your peers, and take part in the evaluation process of other micro-teaching sessions.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for individuals who would like to start teaching or for those who are already teaching but need a nationally recognised teaching qualification for their career development.
It is designed for both the private training industry and post 16 educational institutes and covers the generic teaching skills that are required in becoming an effective teacher/trainer.

Learners must be 18+
Career path
On successful completion of this course, the learner will achieve a UK recognised, fully accredited qualification/certificate – Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET) (RQF)
Potential progression routes include the Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (CTLLS) or the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training (DTLLS).
