Overview

Looking to teach adults we will help you. This award will qualify you to teach, notably in workplace qualifications as this award is usually the minimum requirement for most regulated qualifications. The target audience of this qualification is:

  • Individuals not currently teaching or training but aspiring to do so.
  • Individuals currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training) although the qualification does not require practice other than microteaching.
  • Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.

Description

The plan is to deliver this award face to face on 16-17th and 23-24th May 2022, should COVID cause problems I may fall back to some delivery on Zoom. The venue is Warrington actual location to be formally confirmed nearer the date

Clearly if we go to ZOOM (hopefully not) you will need a good laptop or PC with webcam and audio. plus a good internet connection. You will need MS Office or equivalent to complete assignments and we will store this work in Dropbox which I will supply. If you don't have MS Office you can download Libre Office which is free and works with Microsoft.

This qualification is assessed by the following means:
Unit 1: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
 1x assignment (approx 1200 words each)
Unit 2: Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
 1x assignment (approx 1200 words each)
 1x Teacher assessed micro teaching session of a minimum duration of 20 minutes
 1x self evaluation of micro teaching session
 3x peer observation feedback forms
Unit 3: Understanding assessment in education and training
 1x assignment (approx 1200 words each).

(There is an option to do a different assessor unit, a little longer but if you plan to do assessor units in the future this one signs off the first unit in that package i.e. RPL).

Your tutor will provide ongoing support during and post the course through to sucessful completion on the 3 required units.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
