Overview

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training...

delivered by AET teachers and fully accredited by Qualsafe Awards, is the standard Initial Teacher Training course and the minimum needed to teach adults in the UK. NUS Totum card available.

The three days will contain lectures and activities to prepare you to complete the written work needed to gain the qualification which you will submit to your tutor via email after the three-day course is completed.

You will also have plenty of time in the first two days to prepare for your micro-teach session on day three.

Upon booking the course you will be sent the recommended course textbook and suggested reading and activities.

Description

A face to face...

interactive course in a safe, supportive environment where you will have direct contact with a tutor, and where you can ask questions! Using actual teaching techniques practiced over many years. You can take the activities used in this course with you, adding them to your trainer toolbox, to employ in your teaching now and in the future.

You will complete the following three units

Understanding Roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits)

Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training (6 credits)

Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (3 credits)

What is covered?

  • Roles and responsibilities in education and training
  • Ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Relationships between teachers and other professionals
  • Boundaries between the teaching role and other professionals
  • Points of referral to meet the individual needs of learners

Inclusive teaching, including:

  • Ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment
  • Creating an inclusive teaching and learning plan
  • Justifying own selection of teaching and learning approaches, resources and assessment methods in relation to individual learner needs
  • Delivering inclusive teaching and learning to meet individual needs, including:
  • Evaluating the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning including areas for improvement

Assessment

  • Different methods of assessment and how they can be adapted to meet individual learner needs
  • How to involve learners and others in the assessment process
  • The role and use of constructive feedback
  • Record keeping of assessments

Requirements

You must be over 19 years old and produce photo ID to gain the qualification.
