Overview
This qualification is designed to increase learners' awareness and understanding of domestic abuse and its impact. It will support those in the workplace who may work with, support, or interact with people at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse.
There is a need to understand the issues, report on those who may be at risk, and support signposting to relevant services. This qualification is intended to give learners knowledge to support their role in this context.

Description
The course covers:
- Understand domestic abuse
- Understand the signs and risk factors associated with domestic abuse
- Understand the impact of domestic abuse
- Understand policy, response, and intervention in relation to domestic abuse
You will be provided with online learning materials which cover all aspects of your course. You will be required to complete assessments for each of the units within the course and submit these by the deadline dates provided at induction. You will be allocated an assessor at the start of your course and they will support you to ensure you have a successful outcome. IT skills will be developed throughout your course and basic English skills will be assessed and discussed on an ongoing basis.

Who is this course for?
Awareness of domestic abuse and its impact is important for those working in a wide range of sectors such as healthcare, social care, childcare, education, and housing. The need for education and training across sectors to enable identification of abuse, allocation of support, and referral, is a recurring theme within regional domestic abuse strategies.
Requirements
An interview will be required. You must have English at Level 2. You will need internet access so that you can respond to email and a digital device such as a computer, laptop or tablet that will enable you to type your answers into a web-based platform.
You must be aged 19 or over and a resident of the UK or EEA (European Economic Area) for the last 3 years. You must live in England but outside of the combined authorities of:
- Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
- Greater Manchester
- Liverpool City Region
- Tees Valley
- West of England
- West Midlands
- North of Tyne
- Sheffield City Region
- West Yorkshire
