This introductory course offers a broad understanding of the principles, applications and concepts of purchasing and buying. It gives Learners the opportunity to gain introductory knowledge on which to build.

It introduces learners to the concept of procurement. The process of procurement is having an increasing influence on the profitability and competitive advantage of organisations today and this course emphasises the need to achieve a professional procurement function. The introduction to purchasing will examine the scope of purchasing; sourcing and contract law; progress monitoring; control and global sourcing.

This course is based on professional standards from The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK. CILT (UK) is the UK territorial body of CILT, which has a presence in more than 30 countries across the world. This network of members and contacts can connect all CILT members wherever they are in the world and constitutes the greatest resource of professional expertise within our areas of interest.
