Overview
With advances in power electronics, need for dc power supplies for use in integrated circuits (ICs) and digital circuits has increased tremendously. The application areas of power electronics are very wide from power utility systems and uninterruptible power sources to increase the efficiency of the system. In industries, it is used to control the motors running at variable speed and also to reduce the harmonics. Thus an expert knowledge on operation of power electronic devices is a must for a technical staff working in high power application system.
Participants can use the skills and gain strong knowledge in this workshop about the emerging applications of semiconductor devices that offer higher efficiency and higher power density.
This course is designed to introduce students to power electronic converters and their recent trends and applications in various fields.
