Description

Allergen Awareness

This course has been designed to comply with the new EU legislation law which came into force in December 2014.

This module will show you how to provide allergy information on pre-packed or unpackaged foods. It will cover what effects allergies may have to the body, considerations of allergies in the factory, How allergenic ingredients should be displayed on a label, Identifying allergens in example of dishes in the restaurant and How food businesses should be providing consumers with allergen information about the non-prepacked food they serve.

Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis is a potentially severe allergic reaction which attacks the immune system. Your whole body is affected, usually within minutes of contact with an allergen but sometimes the reaction can take place hours later. This online training course will develop your knowledge on Anaphylaxis, covering the causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of severe allergic reactions.

Basic Life Support

Early resuscitation can improve survival rates by up to 60%. This online course is for anybody, trained or untrained, who wishes to feel more confident in dealing with a collapsed adult or child. Please note that the online course does not qualify its users to carry out either of these tasks without further practical training.

Blood Transfusion

An introduction to blood transfusions for staff that need to understand the process of blood transfusion and real world scenarios to help support patients who have had a transfusion.

This course develops an understanding of the Blood Transfusion process for learners who are not directly involved with this process to widen their broad understanding of the subject.

Catheterisation

Urinary catheterisation is a procedure used to drain the bladder and collect urine, through a flexible tube called a catheter. Our online Catheterisation Course, designed for both RGN’s & Care Staff will cover both theoretical and practical elements. Course attendees will be familiar with reasons for catheterisation, the equipment selection and the processes involved by the end of the course.

Drug Calculation

Our online Verification of Death course is aimed at nurses working in primary care, supportive care and care homes. It is not limited to any particular setting or situation, but enables the nurse to understand the procedure to verify death within the contexts of both expected and unexpected death (and the particular considerations for both situations).
