Overview

Earlier, computers were the only devices that were used to access internet. However, within the last decade, internet access through other devices such as smartphones, tablets and ipads have also increased. Therefore, in order to cater to these users, responsive websites that are suitable for all devices have been introduced. Responsive websites use HTML and CSS to shrink, hide, resize and enlarge a website to make websites accessible through all devices. It is important for organizations to build responsive websites so that their sites can load faster and to increase their ranking and to reduce their bounce rate.

This diploma in HTML5 & CSS3 – Building responsive websites will provide you with the necessary knowledge and training needed to kick start a successful career in building responsive websites. Through this diploma, you will also be guided through several in-depth chapters that walk you through the responsive design workflow, building HTML structure and CSS formatting for mobile and desktop displays; including tablets, desktop screens, and smartphones. A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
