This qualification pathway is for managers and owners of Care Homes, and other similar residential care services. Care Home Managers are supported to study units that enable them to successfully prepare for and undergo CQC Inspections and comply with Regulations.

This pathway enables the learner gain Registered Manager status with the CQC.

We offer the payment by monthly instalments over 20 months to allow to learners extra payment flexibility.

Once your fully completed portfolio of evidence passes External Quality Assurance from the Awarding Body, you will also be awarded the full Diploma.

• Develop Higher Level Learning, Thinking, and Analytical Skills - You will develop your Learning, Thinking and Analytical Skills to a Higher Level, as required for a manager performing at Level 5 and above. You will also learn how to critically evaluate issues and situations, and improve your decision-making.
• Learn modern ways of working, collaborating, and managing - You will learn modern way of working and collaborating. You will learn how to use technology to communicate, share information, work with, and manage a team or an organisation. You will pick up skills that will enable you manage and supervise a dispersed team, and how to support remote teams, and virtual teams. While studying with us, you will also learn about document management, what is acceptable, and what is not, in terms of compliance.

This pathway enables the learner gain Registered Manager status with the CQC.

The HABC Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England) (QCF) has been accredited by the regulators of England (Ofqual) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). QAN (Qualification Accreditation Number) is 601/4265/0. It is supported by Skills for Care, the Sector Skills Council for occupations in social care.

This accredited qualification is awarded by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC).

This qualification is a nationally recognised qualification and is based on the Health and Social Care National Occupational Standards (NOS). It confirms knowledge, understanding, skills and competence in management and advanced practice within health and social care and children and young people's services and serves as the required qualification for registration and regulatory requirements in the sector where appropriate in England. This qualification replaces the previous Level 4 NVQ in Leadership and Management for Care Services, the Level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care. It also replaces the previous 80 credits QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People.

Programme Content - What you will study

Learners must achieve a total of 90 credits to complete the qualification, including six (6) mandatory units, and a range of optional units.

Care Home Managers are supported to choose units that enable them to successfully prepare for and undergo CQC Inspections and comply with Regulations.

All six units in mandatory group A totalling 30 credits

A minimum of 60 credits from the remaining groups, including;

32 credits from mandatory core group E1;

A minimum of 12 credits from group E2;

A minimum of 1 credit and maximum of 6 credits being taken from group E3;

and the remaining credits to be taken from groups E2, or E4.

Adults' Residential Management - Group A Mandatory Units - All 30 credits must be completed

3 - Champion equality, diversity and inclusion

4 - Develop health and safety and risk management policies, procedures and practices in health and social care or children and young people's settings

5 - Work in partnership in health and social care or children and young people's settings

Adults' Residential Management - Mandatory Core Group E1 -All 32 credits must be completed

66 - Manage health and social care practice to ensure positive outcomes for individuals

69 - Understand safeguarding of children and young people for those working in the adult sector

70 - Lead person centred practice

Adults' Residential Management - Optional Management Group E2 - Learners must achieve a minimum of 12 credits from this group.

Training and Assessment: Learners receive training through blended learning that includes distance learning, face-to-face support visits, email support, and telephone support and resources as required.

Assessments involve a variety of assessment methods including: observation of work-based performance, written and oral questioning, professional discussion, work-based evidence, witness testimony, personal statements and more. Your trainer/assessor will assist you in producing a portfolio of evidence that provides evidence of your knowledge and performance.

How long does it take? Duration of the course Flexible. You can complete as fast as you want. Many learners can complete the course within 20 months by completing 1 unit a month. But, if you complete two unit a month, you will be able to complete 20 units in 10 months. .

If your circumstances change we can extend the duration and support you to complete your learning, so long as you have paid your all course fees.

What certificates do you get when you complete your course? On full completion of this qualification, the learner will receive the full Certificate issued by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC).

If a learner does not complete the minimum number of credits required by Awarding Body for the full qualification in order to award Full Certification by Awarding Body, then the learner will be issued Certificate of Achievement by Vocational Skills Centre for any completed units.

Completing this qualification makes you eligible for Registered Manager status with the CQC, and makes you fully qualified to manage a care facility, or health facility for adults. You can further progress to Regional/Operations Manager, to manage a group of care settings.

Earnings range from £35,000 yearly, up to £60,000 pa.
