GVC Module

Theory content

Phase 1 covers the theory syllabus as set by the CAA and is comprised of the eight modules as shown above. We don’t give you piles of reference material to plod through, or expect you to take days off from your work. Using interactive voice-over audio & video presentations, this phase of the training course is delivered Online by a highly experienced instructor. To assist you with any note taking, the presentation material is also available for download. A short test is set at the end of each module which assesses your competency to progress to the next module. You may pause or stop a module at any time and resume at the same place at a later date. You can also revisit completed modules. I will personally tutor you and monitor your progress if required, I am available via email or phone to assist you.

Practical Flight Assessment Booking (Phase 2)

Once you have completed both the Theory course and the Operations Manual, I will arrange your practical flight assessment which is normally bookable within a few days. For your convenience, I offer both weekday and weekend assessment slots.Phase 2: Operations Manual, Theory Exam and Practical Flight Assessment.

Operations Manual

I provide you with our excellent Operations Manual template resources to assist you in writing this CAA required document. Robert as your tutor will guide and support you through the process of shaping the document to suit your operations if required.

Theory exam

The venue for the multi-choice exam is at The Ivanhoe Hotel and the assessment is at my own private flight site facility in Carryduff near Belfast. The theory exam is normally set on the day, just before the flight assessment at my private location in Carryduff, and cuts down the amount of travel time for you, and on average we can you save approximately between £700 - £1,000 on expenses travelling to the mainland UK.

PfCO Application assistance

You will advised on the requirements and we check through your application paperwork before you send it to the CAA. The Practical Flight Assessment is primarily safety focused and test a students flying skill and safe operational ability. This is set against the students company Operation Manual. I will provide you with close support leading up to the assessment, and we provide guidance documents so nothing will come as a surprise to you. I will be looking for competent safe flying - not amazing hand flying skills and will quickly put you at ease, to ensure that you perform to your maximum capability. Should you happen to fail the assessment, I will debrief you and offer you a further opportunity to resit the exam the same day. There is no resit charge.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
