Overview

Getting Started with Azure Functions

Have you been looking for a way to get a grip on the azure functions to start building scalable cloud systems and applications using it? If so, this course in Azure functions is all you need to get up to speed with the cloud computing service. This course is set to guide you from the very basics to the advanced aspects of Azure functions to help you get into or progress substantially within the IT architecting and web development industry.

This course will start off by exploring the functions of azure, along with guidelines on how to use JavaScript, C#, F#, Python, PHP and other languages in Azure functions to create applications and systems using it. You will then get to learn the concepts of basic triggers, storage triggers, advanced bindings and other triggers and bindings that will help you avoid any permanent changes to the services being worked on.

Microsoft Flow, Logic apps and Webjobs are features available in Azure functions that provide solutions to various issues in application or system development. This course will examine these features in-depth to guide you on how to select the best solution for the issue at hand, while learning the practices that can be followed to prevent maintenance and security issues with the Azure functions in the long run. You will also be instructed on how to build a serverless architecture after examining the features and components of it to provide a more hand-on knowledge on the subject.

Although serverless architecture has started to gain increasing recognition in the modern world, there are a few cons of solely depending on these functions, which will be discussed in detail through this course, followed up by some expert tips and tricks on overcoming these challenges. This course will further educate you on how to run integration tests on your azure functions to ensure its proper functionality and on how to use core tools, Git, azure resource manager and function apps to automate deployment in your azure functions app

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
