Functional skills maths level 2 is a GCSE maths equivalent that enhances employment prospects but also enables learners to gain access on to further and higher education courses.

Online Functional Skills Exam - Not Included in Price

Our functional skills maths level 2 qualification is an online exam that you can take at home. We offer flexible booking times so that you can take your exam during the day, evenings or even at a weekend if required. MME is committed to offering the cheapest online functional skills maths level exam available.

Study Hours

It takes around 45 hours of study to complete this course but this time can be reduced if you are actively studying maths or have previously prepared for a functional skills exam.

Course Materials

The MME course materials are freely available for all students to access. This gives you a full topic list of what is in the exam, revision notes to learn from, practise questions and even exam style questions to get you ready for test day. We even have a full online mock that you can take to make sure you are comfortable with the online set up.

Assessment

The level 2 maths exam is 2 hours long. You select the day you want to take the exam and then at the specified time an invigilator will send you an exam link via email. You open the exam link and the invigilator will talk you through the instructions, it is very straight forward.

Results

After the exam, if you are successful, a formal qualification will be awarded. This qualification can be used to gain access on to further education courses or to help applications to specific jobs. You will receive your results via email and then a certificate shortly after this.

Tuition

MME has the very functional skills maths tutors who specialise in the exam and help learners on a one to one basis to overcome the challenges that maths presents. Our tuition fees are in addition to the course fee advertised, but we do reduce the cost of this for people who book the exam with us.

What is the difference between functional skills maths lv 2 and maths GCSE? I know the latter is 90hrs vs 45hrs for functional maths. Thanks

Hi Wendy There are quite a few differences, but generally speaking the GCSE is much longer due to the number of additional topics. You can only take the exam twice a year in May and November. Functional skills you can take all year round. Functional skills only goes to a grade C/level 4 which is what is needed for most jobs and University applications. GCSE goes up to A*/ level 9. GCSE exams have to be sat in person in a centre and there are 3 exams. FS can be done online. Regards MME

Hi Alex Yes there is always an exam fee for the Ofqual regulated exams, which are the ones you need for Uni, employment and apprenticeships. The standard fee is £149 for an online invigilated exam that you can take from home. This also includes marking, digital and physical certificates. It is an all inclusive fee. You can spread the cost of this over 6 months with a £40 deposit and £18 a month payment. Regards MME

Hi Mabby The course is £15 but you would have to pay extra for the exam. Unless you go to College for 9 months then this is the only way to get it free. If you want to pass within this month then there is no free option I am afraid. In order to get your results back in time you would need to book ASAP as the exam boards close for Christmas so you may not be able to get your results back in time unless you book now. Regards MME

Hi, Usually when sitting the exams all providers have to charge for resits as we incur the same costs again, however I know that we will be introducing a new offer for the month of October only where we offer totally free resits to anyone who has paid for their exam between now and the end of October. You can pay now and book in your attempt at anytime, as long as you give us 1 weeks notice, and you will qualify for a free resit. Please keep this message as evidence of the offer.
