Three days of practical, simulated boardroom challenges in a safe environment will set you up for the diploma exam and have an immediate impact on your performance as a director.

Objectives

Our Diploma in Company Direction is designed to build on the knowledge gained from the Certificate in Company Direction and boost your expertise and confidence as a director. The diploma will give you:

  • an understanding of your board’s role, its dynamic, power, influence and conflicts
  • an insight into key topics such as risk and crisis management, decision-making, and mergers and acquisitions
  • access to techniques and tools to improve your own competencies and evaluate the performance of your board

The Diploma in Company Direction is an internationally-recognised qualification. Using the latest real-world scenarios and insights, the course encourages peer learning, challenge and reflective practice. Course content is designed by directors for directors. The Developing Board Performance course must be completed in order to gain the diploma, allowing you to move on to the final step of the Chartered Director Programme.

You must of passed the Certificate in Company Direction first before starting this course.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
