Overview

If you already have experience in delivering presentations then this 2 day delivering presentations course is ideal for you and will help you to enhance your existing skills to a more professional and advanced level. Your exsiting delivering presentations skills will be refreshed whilst learning more techniques, methods and tools of presenting in a more specific and in-depth way to enable you to deliver a powerful presentation, having a wider and more positive impact on your audience.

Description

This two day delivering presentations course is designed to give participants a broader range of skills, knowledge, tools and techniques that will enable them to deliver a presentation at a more advanced and professional level. After this delivering presentations course you will be able to apply your skills to any group in any situation including interviews, meetings, network events and social meetings. You will have the opportunity to practice and discuss the skills you have learned throughout the 2 days.

One-to-One Tuition

Please note that places are restricted to a maximum of 6 delegates for this course in order to ensure all delegates receive sufficient one to one personal coaching and tuition throughout the duration of the programme.

Course Content

This Course Will Cover a Selection of the Following Areas (Dependant on Identified Delegate Needs)

  • Presenting to large or small groups
  • Delivering sales pitches or tender presentations
  • Presenting to conferences
  • Presenting to interview panels
  • Presenting with translators and signers
  • Presenting internationally
  • Presenting and promoting yourself
  • Dealing with spontaneous presentations (“getting dropped in it”)
  • Networking effectively
  • Interacting with audiences
  • Handling difficult questions
  • Facilitating group discussion
  • Dealing with difficult and disruptive audiences and individuals
  • Adapting to different levels of audience, understanding and experience
  • Tailoring content for different audiences and occupational sectors
  • Presenting in pairs, three’s or as a team
  • Refreshing old material
  • Handling difficult situations
  • Dealing with things going wrong (“thinking on your feet”)

Delivery of 1st Presentations

This session will give the opportunity for delegates to deliver a pre-prepared 15 minute presentation on a subject of their choice. This presentation will act as a benchmark for all learning to build upon.

Planning and Preparing (Introduction)

  • The fundamentals of planning and preparing presentations
  • Structuring presentations
  • Setting robust aims and objectives
  • Addressing fears, nerves and anxieties
  • Considering your audience’s needs
  • Anticipating “sticky” situations
  • Picking the perfect venue
  • Anticipating audience behaviours

Delivering Presentations

  • Creating lasting impressions
  • Maximising your use of words, tone of voice and non verbal communication
  • Managing audience interaction
  • Grabbing and holding your audience’s attention
  • Using visual aids to enhance your presentation
  • Handling difficult questions
  • Establishing and maintaining your credibility
  • Using your voice to create an impact
  • The “image” and “etiquette” of the presenter.

Delivering Presentations in a Variety of Forums

This session provides an opportunity for delegates to consider how to adapt the skills and knowledge covered during the programme to a range of differing presentation arenas.

Thinking on Your Feet

This session addresses a range of concerns presenters are often concerned about, such as:

  • “drying up”
  • “making mistakes”
  • “giving out inaccurate information”
  • “dealing with disruptive behaviours”
  • “being thrown at the last minute to present”
  • “dealing with audience apathy”

Delivery of 2nd Presentations

This session allows delegates to see improvements in their presentation style by being given the opportunity to deliver their initial presentation again, using many of the skills and techniques acquired throughout the 2 days. The session will be conducted in a “Masterclass” format with full one to one coaching provided by the trainer.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
