Counselling Level 3

The Comprehensive Counselling Skills course can be completed on average between 320 – 420 hours, although this is dependent on how quickly you grasp the learning materials, how much time you can dedicate to study and which further unit of study you choose. The Comprehensive Counselling Skills course covers 3 compulsory units:

• Counselling Level 3
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 3
• Life Coaching Level 3

These units provide a sound working knowledge of the theory and practise of counselling, the principles surrounding cognitive behavioural therapy and the skills of life coaching. You will be guided through the practical tools and techniques surrounding the theory of each unit, developing your knowledge to meet specific learner requirements.

You will then have a choice of 1 further unit to specialise in; you can choose from:

• Drug, Solvent and Alcohol Abuse Counselling Level 4
• Grief Counselling Level 3
• Stress Counselling Level 3
• Counselling Children and Adolescents Level 4
• Advanced Counsellor and Psychotherapist Level 4

Each unit has been chosen and developed to bring you key knowledge and understanding of these various counselling approaches. You will enhance your understanding of psychology and your real life counselling techniques will be strengthened. Upon completion of your chosen additional unit, you will be empowered to use your diverse knowledge and skills in a counselling setting. Once you’ve successfully completed each unit, you can use your Learner Unit Summary as evidence of your knowledge and to support further study.

The Comprehensive Counselling Skills course is based online so gives you complete freedom of study! You don’t need to worry about getting yourself to class on time as lessons start whenever you turn on your computer! All your learning materials will be sent to you via email, and your online student is available to support your learning.

You will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards which is accompanied by a Learner Unit Summary. The course has been designed to meet specific learner requirements and has been endorsed under the ABC Awards Quality License Scheme. Completion of the course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification, but can be used as evidence of knowledge and skills, which in turn can be used towards regulated qualifications in the future.
