Our online COSHH awareness training course covers:

  • Why hazardous substances are an issue and examples of incidents involving hazardous substances, along with their consequences
  • The forms that hazardous substances can take
  • The four ways that hazardous substances can enter the body in order to cause harm
  • The harmful effects that hazardous substances can have
  • Acute and chronic effects that hazardous substances can cause
  • Identifying hazardous substances, including: the key classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) pictograms, and chemical safety data sheets
  • The key legal requirements under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations, including: risk assessment, emergency procedures, health surveillance, Workplace Exposure Limits (WELS), employees responsibilities
  • COSHH risk assessments, including the means of control

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
