Overview
Aimed at Site Managers, Agents and those who are or are about to become responsible for planning, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of operatives including sub-contractors.
Delegates will gain an understanding of their responsibilities and accountability for site and workplace safety and of the moral, financial and legal reasons to promote high standards of Health and Safety.
Description
Covering all relevant legislation and the regulations which govern on site safety, the law including the New Sentencing Guidelines is thoroughly covered as are the CDM 2015 Regulations.
Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work are discussed in depth with an assessed exercise for delegates who will carry out other assessed exercises set by their tutor, these include Site Set Up and a Construction Phase Plan for the allocated Case Study and other exercise covering managers and Supervisors Responsibilities, Accident Reporting and Crisis Management.
Who is this course for?
Those who are becoming managers for the first time having been in a supervisory role previously or wishing to progress into management after many years "On the Tools"
Requirements
Experience of the Construction Industry in the UK and a desire to contribute to improved safety standards in the industry.
Career path
CITB recommend a refresher course after 3 years, this mandatory after 5 years. NVQ's and CPD can be added to augment this highly sought after qualification.
