Description

The CILT(UK) Level 3 Award in Global Logistics provides knowledge and understanding of current trade patterns and the structure and operation of global and multi-national trade, business and supply chains. It includes economic, environmental, cultural, political, and ethical issues and moves on to address how global trade is regulated, constrained, controlled and monitored across all major modes of transport.

The course includes one mandatory unit, of 80 guided learning hours.

The unit considers the options available for international businesses wishing to minimise any negative factors, including those associated with the environment and conducting global business. The unit examines physical and human resource issues related to extended supply chain operation and control, including the quality assurance and development of technical and quality standards.

Successful learners can progress onto completion of a full Certificate qualification at Level 3, or progress onto the CILT (UK) Level 5 Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport.

Many people do not understand the way qualifications are structured – the levels are fairly obvious in that the higher the level the higher the level of study. However, it is often overlooked that there are different sizes of qualifications at the same levels.

Award-sized qualifications are short programmes – often achievable in a few weeks – they are still however full qualifications, recognised by the Government and employers alike and are therefore a great way to kick start new learning for new opportunities. Much less daunting than committing to months of study and exams.

Our Awards are awarded by reputable awarding organisations, internationally recognised and they are focussed on specific key areas. This means that they are not only a great way of easing yourself into learning – perhaps if you are already in the logistics, transport or facilities industries, or for other staff for familiarisation, such as those working in these industries in administration, HR, IT, finance or marketing perhaps.

They are also great add-ons to existing qualifications or study to expand understanding.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
