Overview
The study of the psychological processes of children from childhood to adolescence is called Child Psychology. The focus of the study is on how the psychological processes of children are different to that of adults, the developmental processes of a child from its time of birth to when they reach adolescence and how and why each child is unique. Child psychology is a key branch of developmental psychology.
Childhood, though simple in appearance is a complicated as well as influential time in an individual’s life. The kind of adult a person becomes is heavily impacted by the kind of childhood the person had. Therefore, child psychology focuses on the development and behaviour of children. The other areas covered by child psychology are mental and emotional well-being and development, social skills, milestones, etc.
