Description
Some may have been able to read, write and spell without challenges at such an early age however some encounter difficulties with it, dyslexia, is a learning disability characterized by difficulty reading, even with normal intelligence.
Dyslexic have difficulties with single-word decoding, reading fluency and spelling which can be identified by reading slowly, inaccurately, and even difficulties spelling. The roles of a dyslexic therapist are to be able to identify these to know strategies how to best educate a student with dyslexia.
At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) understand dyslexia, its challenges and education policies; (2) be aware of the causes of dyslexia; (3) assess dyslexia; (4) eradicate illiteracy; and (5) teach dyslexics.
To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
