At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) understand child psychology; (2) be aware of social interactions; (3) be familiar with research methods; (4) comprehend perception; (5) understand communication and language; (6) identify intelligence and nature/nurture debate; (7) be familiar with data; (8) understand children’s line of thought; (9) be familiar with the acquisition of behaviour; (10) be aware of the gender roles; (11) be familiar with the causes of aggression found in children; (12) understand the methodological approach to research; and (13) understand education.

Description
Child psychology is the study of the psychological characteristics of infants and children and the application of general psychological principles to infancy and childhood. Parents should understand the behaviour of their children to help them, to guide them and teach them the right values like respect, love and honesty that will help them interact with other people
At the end of this course, students shall learn how to:
(1) understand child psychology;
(2) be aware of social interactions;
(3) be familiar with research methods;
(4) comprehend perception;
(5) understand communication and language;
(6) identify intelligence and nature/nurture debate;
(7) be familiar with data;
(8) understand children’s line of thought;
(9) be familiar with the acquisition of behaviour;
(10) be aware of the gender roles;
(11) be familiar with the causes of aggression found in children;
(12) understand the methodological approach to research; and
(13) understand education.
To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
Every child has a unique personality trait all throughout their lives, it is the role of the parents to understand them and support them. As much as possible it best to devote time to talk to them to better understand their behaviour and learn how to better guide them towards a positive life.
