Our Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care course has been designed and created to provide students with a more in depth knowledge of this subject area.

Students can expect to learn more about a number of aspects including communication (verbal and non-verbal) and the different styles that can be used. Learners will also explore legislation and standards related to the social care industry (including the Human Rights Act 1988). Other areas you can expect to learn about include abuse and neglect, The Care Quality Commission (CQC), responding to complaints, risk assessment, hazard analysis, confidentiality and much more!

As you can observe, there is a great deal to learn in relation to working in adult social care. This programme aims to equip students with all the necessary knowledge and skills. Students will have the opportunity to develop their theoretical understanding in relation to their practical experience. Learners will be required to study nine modules, each exploring a different aspect of working in adult social care. Throughout the programme, learners will receive guidance and support from tutors, available via mail or email, so there is no need to feel isolated during your studies.

This CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care has been accredited by the Register of Regulated Qualifications (Ofqual) and is part of the Qualifications Credit Framework (RQF).

Assessment

The learner will complete a portfolio of evidence by successfully completing all of the activities at the end of each unit. This portfolio is assessed by your tutor who will mark and sign off each completed unit of study.

Upon successful completion of the 20 credits, students will receive a certificate of achievement from the awarding organisation, CACHE.

Awarding organisation

NCFE CACHE (Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education) are a leading awarding organisation specialising in in the care and education sector. CACHE endorse a range of qualifications to individuals and organisations throughout the UK and internationally.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Level 2 NCFE certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to Level 2 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE. NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
