What You Get From Each Lesson

Lesson 1 – One Length Bob

The one length bob is a salon staple and the perfect way to begin your bobbing journey! And who better to teach you than master of precision haircutting, Stacey Broughton? Encompassing technical skills from blunt and freehand cutting to sectioning and graduation, you’ll create a balanced and defined shape, which is easily adapted to the specific needs of your client.

Lesson 2 – Box Bob

In tutorial 2, Stacey is again on hand, this time to demonstrate the classic box bob. You’ll get to grips with positioning the line above the hairline, blending from the guide into the hairline and continuing the line from front to back – as well as the placement and length of the fringe. The end result? A face-framing bob sitting above the jawline that your clients will love.

Lesson 3 – Long A-Line Bob Shape

Continue your path to bob excellence in lesson 3, where you’ll master this variation of a long A-line bob shape. With Stacey as your tutor, you’ll begin by graduating the internal area before cutting a soft, pointed outline. Encompassing graduation, over-direction and finger and body positioning, you’ll also learn freehand techniques to soften this youthful look.

Lesson 4 – Graduated A-Line Disconnection with a Heavy Fringe

Tracey Hughes takes over in your fourth tutorial to teach you the graduated A-line disconnection. Demonstrating this gorgeously slim A-line with natural movement and a relaxed outline, you’ll learn how to combine graduation, over-direction, disconnection and placement to create a commercial salon shape that clients will go crazy for.

Lesson 5 – Horizontal Graduated Bob on Permed Hair

Stacey’s back for your final lesson, where he’ll show you how to cut a horizontal graduated bob on permed hair. This is a versatile shape for every kind of hair texture, where definition of elevation is crucial, with the texture from the firmer curl supporting the looser movement through the top area. You’ll learn how to master this luxurious shape to create a graceful silhouette.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
