Overview
Would you like to gain an introduction into the field of physiotherapy? Back pain, sports injuries and ergonomics are common issues and having knowledge about these areas can help make a considerable difference to a person’s health. In this course we discuss these areas in details, looking at preventative measures, occupational health, recovery from injuries, the main systems in the human body and more.
Our course is accredited by the CPD Service, which means that it may count towards CPD requirements for professionals such as personal trainers and health professionals. This course does not allow you to practice or call yourself a physiotherapist. To do so you must complete an HCPC approved physiotherapy course and be registered as a Physiotherapist with the HCPC. For more information please visit the HCPC website.
Do you want to:
- Learn about physiotherapy to improve your own health?
- Understand how to prevent injury and the impact that different lifestyles have on the body?
- Get a detailed understanding of physiotherapy, free from any bias?.
If yes, then this is the course for you.
In this course you will gain a strong understanding of the history of physiotherapy and its relationship to other body systems such as the skeletal, muscular and neuromuscular systems. You will examine the role of prevention within the science by focusing on both injury prevention and ergonomics.
Specific diseases will be discussed such as osteoporosis and back pain as well as other types of treatment such as acupuncture and hydrotherapy. The course will then conclude with understanding the role of a physiotherapist in relation to other treatments such as alternative therapies, sports coaches, personal trainers and osteopaths.
What can you do following the course?
For all students, career coaching is available from a registered physiotherapist, who will discuss what is required to become a physiotherapist. The knowledge gain in this course could be used to work in a health shop, in a fitness centre, as a journalist and more. Even if you don’t plan to pursue being a physiotherapist as a career, it is great for those looking to make more informed decisions about their own health and their family.
Post career coaching
Another option is to get career coaching from our experienced physiotherapist, who will be able to guide you on what career options are available.
