Biology IGCSE Course

This IGCSE Biology course has been designed to assist in the development of a broader understanding of biological principles, concepts and biological investigative skills. Students will learn how to evaluate the positive and negative aspects of scientific developments and advances.

About this Course

This Biology IGCSE can be used in preparation for progressing to higher level study in relevant biological subjects (for example AS and A2) or as a vehicle for career development or to fulfil entry requirements to education courses.

The course is designed to be accessible for those with limited scientific backgrounds, and as such is an excellent starting point for students wishing to learn more about biological science.

Our Edexcel GCSEs do require you to complete an external examination at a registered Edexcel centre which will require you to pay an additional fee. This course will prepare you for your examinations that can be taken at an Edexcel centre in the UK or internationally.

All of your GCSEs follow the Edexcel specifications with some being GCSEs and some being IGCSEs. These are both widely recognised and accepted by colleges and universities throughout the world. IGCSEs were first introduced in 1988 and are seen as being the same standard as GCSEs but never include any coursework and are more accessible to people internationally.

Assessments

This course is assessed through tutor marked assignments which must be sent to your tutor for marking. You will then be provided with feedback and a mark on your work from your tutor within 4 working days. After each assignment has been sent off and marked as complete you will have passed the course and will receive your certification.
